Floatation Therapy
An alternative therapy during which an individual floats in a warm water solution of epsom salts while enclosed inside a sensory deprivation tank.
Also know as REST (Restricted Environment Stimulation Technique) therapy.
Floatation therapy is used to:
- Reduce stress
- Lower blood pressure
- Improve concentration and focus
- Normalize stress hormone levels
- Improve mood
- Relieve tension headaches, muscle tension, and other pain
Potential risks may include:
- Feelings of anxiety, panic, or claustrophobia
Floatation therapy can be done at float centers, chiropractic offices, fitness and sports therapy centers, and spas. Prices for a one-hour float session generally range between $50-100 depending on location.
