Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) uses magnetic pulses, similar to an MRI machine, to non-invasively stimulate a part of the brain that that helps to regulate mood. Studies suggest that TMS may help to reduce neuropathic pain and is commonly used to treat depression when other treatments haven't been effective.

TMS can be found in physicians' offices, head trauma clinics and rehabilitation centers, and costs approximately $150 per treatment, done over 10-20 sessions.
