Cingulate Cortex

The Cingulate Cortex sits toward the center, or medial aspect, of the cerebral cortex and includes the cingulate gyrus and cingulate sulcus. It plays a role in executive function and respiratory control, and is an important part of the limbic system, which controls emotions, learning, and memory.
