Cerebral Contusion

A cerebral contusion is a brain bruise caused by several areas of bleeding on the brain surface. It is caused by a severe traumatic brain injury. A cerebral contusion can cause internal bleeding and inflammation of the brain.

Cerebral contusions occur when the brain hits the skull or the dura mater (the outer membrane of the brain).
